FIBREGLASS POOL REPAIRS
Fibreglass Pool Repairs Done Right
From hairline cracks to osmosis blistering, BRE Fibreglass provides honest assessments and quality repairs for fibreglass pools across the Gold Coast and South East Queensland. We fix the cause — not just the surface.
Types of Pool Repairs We Handle
Not all pool damage is the same. We assess each situation individually and recommend the right approach — whether that's a targeted repair, a partial fix or a full resurface.
Structural Cracks
Cracks through the fibreglass laminate that compromise the pool shell. We identify whether the crack is structural or cosmetic and repair accordingly — not just fill and paint over.
Osmosis Blistering
Moisture trapped between the gelcoat and laminate causes bubbles and blisters. We grind back affected areas, dry the laminate and rebuild with proper materials to prevent recurrence.
Worn or Damaged Gelcoat
Fading, chalking, roughness and staining from years of chemical exposure and UV. Gelcoat restoration brings back a smooth, sealed surface — or we advise when a full resurface is the better option.
Patch & Spot Repairs
Localised damage from impact, equipment removal or wear. Targeted fibreglass patching and gelcoat touch-ups to restore the affected area without resurfacing the entire pool.
Steps, Benches & Edges
High-wear areas like steps, seat ledges and coping edges are prone to cracking and delamination. We rebuild and reinforce these areas to handle ongoing foot traffic and use.
Return Line & Fitting Surrounds
Cracks and damage around return jets, skimmer boxes, lights and other fittings. We repair the fibreglass and seal the surrounds properly to prevent leaks and further deterioration.
A note about concrete pools
BRE Fibreglass specialises in fibreglass pool repairs and resurfacing. We do not repair or resurface concrete or pebblecrete pools. If you're unsure what type of pool you have, feel free to get in touch and we can help you work it out.
When a Repair is the Right Option
A targeted repair can be a practical, cost-effective solution when the damage is contained and the rest of the pool is still in good shape. If you are unsure about the condition of your pool, an independent inspection from Fibreglass Pool Check can help identify exactly what needs attention.
The damage is localised to one or two areas of the pool
The rest of the pool surface is still in reasonable condition
You want to extend the life of the current surface for a few more years
Budget is a consideration and a full resurface isn't needed yet
The issue is a specific problem like a crack, blister or fitting leak
When Resurfacing is the Smarter Long-Term Option
Sometimes a repair will hold for a while but won't solve the underlying problem. We'll always be upfront if we think a full resurface is the better investment.
The pool surface is rough, chalky or stained across most of the interior
Osmosis blistering is widespread rather than isolated
Multiple repairs have already been done and the surface is patchwork
The gelcoat is worn through to the laminate in several areas
You want a long-lasting result rather than incremental fixes
The pool is being renovated and you want a fresh, uniform finish
How BRE Fibreglass Approaches Pool Repairs
Every repair starts with understanding the problem. We don't guess and we don't cut corners.
Inspect First
We assess the pool on-site — checking the surface, laminate condition and any underlying issues before recommending anything.
Identify the Cause
We work out why the damage occurred — not just what it looks like. This determines whether a repair will hold or whether resurfacing is the better path.
Repair Properly
Proper preparation, quality materials and correct application. We grind back, rebuild layers and seal — no shortcuts, no quick fixes that fail in six months.
Match & Finish
We colour-match and finish the repair to blend with the existing surface as closely as possible, leaving a smooth and consistent result.
